Marshawn Lynch may not be a Seattle Seahawk anymore, but he’s still supporting his Pacific Northwest friends like Sounders winger, Steve Zakuani. In Zakuani’s charity soccer match during the Fourth of July weekend, Marshawn Lynch did what he does best: he ran the ball. Literally.
Lynch, who opted to wear sliders on the field rather than cleats, got a solid pass from teammate Eddie Johnson, a former MLS player. Instead of dribbling the ball towards the net, Lynch went into full beast mode, picking up the soccer ball and running it into the goal.
But he wasn’t done. After being penalized with a red card, Lynch takes the red card right out of the ref’s hand and savagely throws it to the ground and punts the soccer ball (and his flip flop) away. All this happened within seconds of Lynch being subbed into the match.
Last week, Lynch’s trainer posted a video of the Raiders running back doing foot drills on the beach but it didn’t look like he put those intense foot skills to work at the charity event. Though he wasn’t in the game for long, Lynch sure did make his seconds count and gave the crowd something to laugh about.
