Apparently, Aaron Rodgers wants to believe.

On a recent appearance on the Pete Holmes podcast, where Rodgers touched on a wide-range of topics for two hours, the Green Bay Packers star claims that he saw a UFO in New Jersey in 2005.

Considering that most UFO sightings are reported in either backwater towns or binge-watchers of X-Files in Denver or Seattle (hint: munchies), Rodgers’ admission is a bit surprising.

He’s a perennial NFL MVP candidate and is a top three quarterback in the league. He also dates Maxim’s 2012 Top 100 runner-up Olivia Munn, which means clearly he doesn’t fall into usual “believer” category.

Still, much like Fox Mulder on the hit show, Rodgers claims that an incident that happened in his past, namely while hanging with Cal teammate Steve Levy in the Garden State, has him believing in UFOs.

“It was a large orange, left-to-right-moving object. Because of the overcast nature of the night and the snow, you couldn’t make out—it was kind of behind the clouds we were seeing, but it was definitively large, moving from left to right. It was me, Steve [Levy], and his brother that saw it. And it goes out of sight and we look at each other and go ‘What in the (expletive) was that?’”

Let’s hope Rodgers doesn’t do any more digging, or else he may have to deal with this man:
