Stop us if you’ve heard this before.
Cleveland fans burn the jerseys of a departed athlete they once believed would finally bring them their first major sports title since 1964.
First it was LeBron James, who bailed on the Cavaliers to chase (and eventually win) an NBA title with a loaded Miami Heat roster.
Now it is Johnny Manziel, aka “Johnny Football.”
The Heisman Trophy winner was released by the Browns on Friday after two spending two controversy-filled seasons with the team.
Apparently Cleveland fans were not thrilled with Johnny Football’s tenure coming to a rather quick conclusion and expressed their frustrations with lighter fluid and a box of matches.
Well, maybe one day Manziel will make a triumphant return to Cleveland and attempt to lead them to Super Bowl glory.
