NFL Week 13: Cowboys, Seahawks, Falcons seek wins as favorites

Dak Prescott and the streaking Dallas Cowboys will face a top pass rush against the Minnesota Vikings, who are tough to defeat twice in a row.

The Cowboys are listed as the 3.5-point favorite against the Vikings in the Thursday Night Football matchup at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Cowboys come in red-hot, going 6-0 straight-up and 5-1 against the spread in their last six games as a favorite.

Prescott has proven unflappable and his strong offensive line will have the challenge of nullifying the Vikings defense, which has an impressive 28 sacks. The Vikings are 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 games after losing the previous game in a matchup, but based on what they have shown, it’s doubtful whether QB Sam Bradford and their mediocre offense can keep pace with Dallas.

The Atlanta Falcons are four-point betting favorites against the Kansas City Chiefs. While Chiefs CB Marcus Peters might negate WR Julio Jones, Atlanta QB Matt Ryan has many more weapons including WR Taylor Gabriel and RB Devonta Freeman. The Chiefs had a thrilling overtime win last week in Denver, but are 0-7 ATS in their last seven games after an ATS win.

The Arizona Cardinals are 2.5-point favorites against the Washington Redskins. Arizona’s No. 1 defense could cancel out Washington’s No. 2 offense. On the other side of the ball, Washington is susceptible to the run and Cardinals RB David Johnson is capable of taking over a game. The Cardinals, who were blown out by Atlanta in Week 12, are 7-3 SU in their last 10 games after a loss.

The New Orleans Saints are five-point favorites against the Detroit Lions. Chances are, quarterbacks Drew Brees and Matthew Stafford might trade touchdowns all afternoon. New Orleans, which is 2-8 ATS over its last 10 games as a favorite of at least 4.5 points, is giving up more yards per game on defense than Detroit but has faced a higher caliber of opposing offenses.

The Baltimore Ravens are favored by 3.5 points against the Miami Dolphins in a matchup of two teams that have crept into the AFC playoff picture. The Ravens’ No. 2-ranked defense, led by ILB Zachary Orr and SS Eric Weddle, should be able to slow down the Dolphins’ balanced offense that is built around QB Ryan Tannehill and RB Jay Ajayi.

The Indianapolis Colts are the one-point road favorite against the New York Jets in the Monday Night Football matchup. Colts QB Andrew Luck is practicing again, and he tends to make his teammates better while struggling Jets QB Ryan Fitzpatrick does the opposite. The Colts, who are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 Monday games, will have to keep Jets RB Matt Forte and WR Brandon Marshall from taking over the game.

And the Seattle Seahawks are favored by seven against the Carolina Panthers in the Sunday Night Football matchup. The Seahawks, sitting third on the odds to win Super Bowl 51, are 11-1 SU in their last 12 home games against teams with losing records. The Panthers, though, are 5-1-1 ATS in their last seven matchups as underdogs of at least seven points.

Sunday Night Football: Cowboys betting favorites against division-rival Eagles

The Dallas Cowboys will look to capitalize on some key Philadelphia Eagles injuries and end the home-team jinx in the long-running NFC East rivalry this weekend. The Cowboys are listed as the four-point favorites against the Eagles with a 43-point total in the Sunday Night Football betting matchup at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com.

The visiting team is 6-0 straight-up in the last six matchups between the teams, according to the OddsShark NFL Database, and the Cowboys are 2-8 against the spread in their last 10 games at home after winning their two most recent home games.

Dallas, which is 5-1 SU and 5-0-1 ATS, will bring in the NFL’s most prolific rushing attack with C Travis Frederick, RG Zack Martin and LT Tryon Smith opening holes for RB Ezekiel Elliott. Philadelphia’s defensive-line depth will be compromised if DT Bennie Logan (groin) is out entirely. Philadelphia has also lost nickel CB Ron Brooks (ruptured quad) for the season, depriving them of a defender to track slippery slot WR Cole Beasley.

Rookie QB Dak Prescott has thrived in a scheme that calls on him to get the ball out quickly and also occasionally run on misdirection plays. The Eagles, whose 20 sacks put them among the NFL leaders, will have to put Prescott in some obvious passing downs in order to take him out of his comfort zone.

The Cowboys have had a bye week to prepare since defeating the Green Bay Packers soundly in Week 6. Dallas is 7-2 SU in their last nine games after winning as an underdog.

Philadelphia is 4-2 SU and ATS. The output from rookie QB Carson Wentz and the WR trio of Nelson Algohor, Dorial Green-Beckham and Jordan Matthews has waned in recent weeks. Dallas has a middle-of-the-pack pass defense with SS Barry Church, FS Byron Jones, CB Brandon Carr and CB Morris Claiborne.

The Eagles need to exhibit a deep pass threat in order to clear space for TE Zach Ertz and RB Darren Sproles, who each have favorable matchups.

Eagles LT Jason Peters will likely draw the assignment of blocking DE DeMarcus Lawrence, who is back from suspension. Provided RB Ryan Matthews is over his fumbling issues, the Eagles have the potential to mount some ball-control drives of their own and go into the fourth quarter with a chance to win.

Philadelphia, which lost to Washington in its last away game, is 7-2 ATS in its last nine road games after failing to cover in its most recent road game.

The total has gone over in six of Philadelphia’s last seven road games, with one push. The total has gone over in Dallas’ last four games where they were favored at home. Kickoff for the Eagles vs. Cowboys betting matchup in Arlington is set for 8:30pm ET on Sunday night.

The Cowboys are listed as 4.5-point favorites against the Bears with a total of 44.5 points at sportsbooks monitored by OddsShark.com. The Panthers are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games after losing the previous game in a matchup. The visiting team is 2-5 SU and ATS in its last seven games in this matchup.

The Green Bay Packers are also favored by 7.5, with a total of 48, at home against the Detroit Lions. The Packers are 1-4 ATS in their last five home games. The Lions are 1-24 SU in their last 25 road games vs. Green Bay.

In a Marcus Mariota vs. Derek Carr QB matchup, the Tennessee Titans are 1.5-point favorites against the Oakland Raiders, with a total of 46.5. The Raiders are 1-7 SU in their last eight road games after a road win. The Titans are 0-11 SU and ATS in their last 11 games after an ATS win.

The New York Giants are favored by 4.5 points against the Washington Redskins, with a total of 46.5. The Giants have a streak of being 7-0 SU as a favorite of 4.5 points or more. The Redskins are 2-10 SU in their last 12 road games against the Giants.

The Kansas City Chiefs are favored by three points against the New York Jets, with a total of 43.5. The Jets are 2-10 SU in their last 12 games after winning as an underdog.  The Chiefs are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games after winning the previous game in a matchup.

And the Pittsburgh Steelers are favored by five points vs. the Philadelphia Eagles, with a total of 46. The Eagles are 12-5 SU in their last 17 games at home after a win at home. The Steelers are 5-1 SU and ATS in their last six games against the NFC.
