Tom Brady is finally ready to laugh about a topic that didn’t seem so funny to him a few months ago.
The New England quarterback starred in a Thanksgiving commercial for Foot Locker’s Week of Greatness campaign revolving around the Deflategate scandal. Brady, in the video above, meets two fans and goes on a slight rant about how things can spiral when people start questioning greatness.
“Just because something is great year after year doesn’t mean anything is going on,” Brady says in the commercial. “Why can’t some things just be great? It starts with questions, and then questions turn into assumptions, and then assumptions turn into vacations. So why would you punish the Week of Greatness for something that never even happened?”
Brady’s intent was probably to sound a little bit like a conspiracy theorist, which he definitely did, but it’s also cool to see that he’s finally lightened up a bit about the subject.
